Business owner and heating engineer, Alec Calderbank entered the industry in 2004 and by 2008 had started the business he has owned and worked within ever since. Always committed to personal and professional development, Calderbank Heating started out as a local plumbing & heating business and has grown and improved year on year.
With over a decade of heating and boiler experience, Calderbank Heating finally made the switch to just heating in 2016 after winning the North West Screwfix Tradesman of the Year 2015, and finishing runner up nationally. It's been extraordinarily busy since then and the decision was taken to focus purely on the slightly strange but total love of boilers.

We had previously used Alec at Calderbank Heating to install a new boiler, and we needed a washer installed. This wasn't just a usual washer fit as we wanted it moving so needed waste pipes and cold water feed put in.
We approached Alec to see if he could do it for us as he had done such a good job with our boiler and he kindly agreed despite being busy with heating work. He moved things around for us and worked a very long day to fit us in.
He did a great job for us. He treated the job as if it was in his own home. He didn't do what was easiest for him, he did what looked best in terms of pipework

Alec is an absolute credit to this profession. He has installed a new boiler for us over the last couple of days, which also involved placing the new boiler in a new location also. His work ethic was great from word go, and we really felt like, from coming to quote us through to completing the job, he explained everything in depth, including all options available, in order to allow us to make informed decisions as well as keeping us updated with what the next steps of the job were that he was completing.

I am annoyed, really annoyed, where is my sixth star! 5 just isn't enough for Alec. If ever there was an artisan of the Gas heating world its Alec.
As you can probably guess I cant recommend Alec enough. Its always a moment of trepidation when you commission a new trades person to work on your home, unsure of how things will turn out. I am extremely impressed with Alec's approach and commitment.

We have just had a new boiler installed by Alec. From visiting to quote and throughout the installation, Alec took the time to explain the options available so that we could make informed decisions. He also fixed an unrelated gas leak near the gas meter and I have to say, despite having to look under the floor and in the walls, you could not tell he had done this afterwards- tidiest I have ever seen a room left after an engineer has been! The main reason to recommend Calderbank Heating, though, is that we felt 100% trust that Alec was doing a thorough, quality job. He takes huge pride in his work

Highly recommend Alec as a very knowledgeable heating engineer and a skilled plumber. He combines these abilities to produce a solution for a homeowners heating and hot water problems. He is accredited to fit many types of boilers so gives an unbiased view of cost, reliability and after sales service for different products. He will discuss different options with a view to what is achievable and realistic with regard to heating and hot/cold water supply. He openly admits he is not the fastest plumber but I take that to be a good thing given the pride he takes in his work. Thanks Alec for a job well
