Underfloor Heating
Report
Underfloor heating isn't just about heat output, it's about providing a floor construction that won't fail. It's easy to bring underfloor heating products to market and there are many companies in the UK market simply selling product. What they can't bring to the marketplace quickly however, is knowledge.
Underfloor Cooling
Report
It is well-known that warm air rises and cold air falls and so radiant cooling systems can be installed at ceiling level. Jupiter have experience in installing radiant ceiling and wall cooling and can also advise on associated control systems. Underfloor heating pipework can also be used for cooling, however your choice of floor finishes must be carefully considered.
Load Bearing Surfaces
Report
Underfloor heating systems have traditionally been slow to respond, necessitating that they are left running continually. This is due to the mass of the screed present between the heating pipework and the air that the system is trying to heat. Screeds also tend to have a high specific heat capacity, i.e. it takes a lot of energy to change the temperature of a given mass of screed by 1°C.
