Hand-Knotted Rugs
Our hand-knotted rugs are crafted by skilled artisans using centuries-old techniques. Each piece combines traditional patterns with modern design elements, available in Persian, Afghan, and Nepalese styles. We offer both antique and contemporary options, with knot densities ranging from 40 to 160 knots per square inch to suit different budgets and aesthetic preferences.
Rug Cleaning
Our Persian Wash method involves full water immersion, dust removal, and specialist detergent treatment. The process preserves rug integrity through controlled drying without heat exposure. We handle wool, silk, and cotton materials, with stain removal success rates exceeding 90% for recent spills.
Restoration Services
We specialise in fringe and selvedge repairs, plus complex restorations using matching materials. Our technicians rebuild damaged sections using traditional knotting methods, with options to source antique wool for seamless repairs. All structural work maintains the rug's original character and durability.
Bespoke Design
Create made-to-order rugs tailored to specific dimensions and colour schemes. Clients can adapt existing patterns or develop unique designs using our international colour standard system. We accommodate sizes up to 5 metres wide, with production times varying based on complexity and loom availability.
Kilim Rugs
Our kilim collection features handwoven flat rugs from tribal regions, including Afghan, Turkish, and Persian styles. These reversible pieces showcase geometric patterns and vibrant colours, available in both antique and newly woven options. We offer sizes ranging from small mats to large statement pieces.

This was my first experience with The Rug Shop. I had 2 very dirty rugs which needed cleaning. The team picked up the rugs and 2 weeks later returned them. The colours were very bright and they looked so different. We are very pleased with the cleaning service provided. I'd definitely use them again.

Great customer service from the team at The Rug Shop. They were very responsive and their knowledge was extremely helpful in terms of assessing the types of rugs we had inherited and in giving us advice as to how to look after them properly. Cleaning and repairs were great and the free delivery was timely and welcomed. Our rugs have a new lease of life. Definitely recommend.

The Rug Shop responded very promptly (the same day) to my quote request, and were very reasonable. My rugs were cleaned beautifully, they didnt complain about how doggy they smelled . They cleaned the rugs beautifully, no doggy smell at all now! And in half the time they quoted. And they carried the rugs to my car for me. And they had face masks and hand sanitizer with careful virus precautions. Highly recommended

Great selection of fine rugs. Knowledgable and patient service. Willingness to allow us to view our rug in our home before buying was also very helpful in making sure we made the right decision. Will shop again.
