British Hardwoods has been in business since 1992. MD, Tony Fillingham, started out as a one man operation using a mobile chainsaw mill gradually building up a stock of mature hardwoods from fallen and inaccessible logs. Today, the company has grown to become one of the UK's leading solid and engineered wood flooring manufacturers, operating from a 17,500 ft2 purpose built factory situated at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.

Our solid wood flooring is proudly made to order and supplied throughout the UK. We specialise in oak flooring and also make floors in a full range of hardwoods, including ash, maple, cherry and walnut. Our real wood floors can be produced in a range of widths and finishes, depending on the hardwood species.
Solid Oak Flooring

Our solid oak flooring is by far our most popular species of hardwood floor. With its distinctive grain and gorgeous honeyed tones, nothing compares to the beauty of a real oak floor. Our floors can be supplied unfinished, or factory pre-finished with Osmo Polyx Oil which feeds and enriches the wood, accentuating the grain structure and producing a natural satin sheen.
Solid Walnut Flooring

Our solid walnut wood flooring is manufactured from sustainably-sourced prime grade American black walnut. The wood displays a gorgeous range of rich, dark tones which combine beautifully with the creamy, caramel coloured sap band. Our solid walnut floors suit both traditional and contemporary interiors and look absolutely stunning when contrasted with neutral tones and pale dcor.
Wood Flooring Samples

Our wood flooring samples are an excellent way to demonstrate the quality of machining and finish that you can expect from us. Unlike other retailers, who send tiny unrepresentative samples, we prefer to send premium samples so that customers can get a really good feel for their chosen wood floor. Each wood floor sample is a full width board at about 7 inches in length and can be supplied with or without surface treatments.
