Houghton Move is an independent small family run business based in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire. As you have probably guessed Houghton move is our namesake and a slight play on words which is only effective if you pronounce our surname correctly ( How-ton) which is a rarity! Being bored of office life Alec decided to start the business as a man with a van and it has just grown from there.

At Houghton move we are conscious of the environment and always try to reuse things whenever possible. Strong reusable crates are now used as standard as part of our packing service, these are also available to rent (subject to availability) for any house move. Everyone likes things done a certain way and we are happy to pack things to your requirements, no matter how quirky!
