Driveway Paving

For driveway paving, we dig deeper - 250mm rather than the usual 200m. Then we lay a membrane to help prevent shifting or sinking. On top of this we place then pack down 150mm of Ministry of Transport type 1 sub-base - which is the material used for road foundations. This is 50% deeper than the industry standard.
Patio Paving

Woodland Paving lay Patio Paving in Essex including Hornchurch, Upminster and other areas in south west Essex. For our patio paving, we dig 150mm then lay a membrane to help prevent shifting and sinking. Then we put down 75mm of Ministry of Transport type 1 sub-base. Slabs are then laid on mortar or a screed of sand and cement depending on type of slabs.
Gravel Driveways

Woodland Paving lay Gravel Driveways in Essex including Hornchurch, Upminster and other areas in south west Essex. There is an ever-expanding menu of aggregates that can be used for these type of driveways. Anything over 20mm can be hard to walk on. In general, 6-10mm gravel would be used for pathways and 10-20mm for driveways but it is a personal choice.
