Peak Garage Doors Limited is based in Ashbourne. Since 1992 we have specialised in supplying and fitting garage doors in Derbyshire and Staffordshire. We also supply and fit electric garage doors in Derbyshire and Staffordshire. We are agents for the main manufacturers such as Hormann, Cardale, Garador and Novoferm in Derbyshire and Staffordshire but are not restricted to any one of them.

The Thermo 67 from Hormann has a U value of 0.49 W/m2K which is nearly twice the level of insulation of the nearest rival. This is the most insulated garage door available right now in the UK and is suitable for a 'passive house' specification, a voluntary scheme to produce a building with a standard offering a reduction of up to 90% in heating requirements.

Handy if you don't keep the car in the garage but are always nipping in and out for the freezer or the washer. Hormann have now started producing a side hung door made out of the same material as their sectional doors. This means they are now insulated and very secure and overcome some of the shortcomings of timber and single skin steel side hung doors.

An electric garage door is a bit like a dishwasher, once you have had one you can't go back to manual. Don't worry, if there is a power cut they can be unlocked so that there is no risk of being locked in or out. If you have no other access to the garage an external manual release lets you open the door from the outside.
