Services
Lime Rendering
Lime rendering restores breathability to historic structures while preventing moisture damage. Our specialists apply hair chalk, fibre chalk, and insulation lime renders to listed buildings and traditional properties. This technique accommodates structural movement, prevents decay, and maintains authentic finishes while improving thermal performance through cork or sheep wool insulation.
Plasterboarding
Plasterboarding services include overboarding existing surfaces and installing new plasterboard systems. We prepare surfaces with bonding agents or sand/cement renders before applying modern skim coats or traditional lime plasters. This creates smooth, durable finishes ready for decoration while addressing insulation and soundproofing requirements in both new builds and renovation projects.
Patchwork Plastering
Targeted patchwork plastering addresses localized damage in historic and modern properties. We match existing materials and techniques to repair artex-covered surfaces, damaged oak laths, and compromised savolit boards. This preserves structural integrity while avoiding unnecessary replacement, using compatible lime-based or modern plasters to ensure cohesive results that blend seamlessly with original finishes.
Cork Insulation
Cork insulation integration combines natural thermal performance with breathability in lime rendering systems. We install cork boards beneath lime plasters to improve energy efficiency without trapping moisture. This solution maintains traditional aesthetics while meeting modern comfort standards, particularly effective in solid wall constructions and heritage buildings requiring sympathetic upgrades.
Oak Laths Installation
Oak laths installation creates authentic substrates for traditional lime plaster applications. We replace damaged laths in heritage properties, ensuring proper spacing and adhesion for optimal key formation. This specialist service preserves historical accuracy in listed buildings while providing durable foundations for breathable plaster systems that accommodate natural movement in timber-framed structures.

Contractor selection was critical when it came to the lime rendering project for our 200 year + Norfolk property and we definitely made the right choice by appointing Gary to complete the works. We received tenders from 5 other contractors and Gary stood out immediately with his honest, factual and instructive advice. The property had been cement rendered in the 80's which brought its inevitable negative results in such an old property and construction type (solid Norfolk red brick walls & lime mortar) and visually it stood out in the village for all the wrong reasons. After six weeks work

Gary recently completed lime rendering on our home, he has completed a fabulous job and it looks marvellous. More insulation has been added as well. Gary is professional, friendly, on time, kept us informed on progress and tidy! We have more work that needs completing and we will be asking Gary to come back and complete this.

We are really really pleased with the work that Gary has done for us. He was incredibly helpful in advising us about a number of challenges we have had/discovered and we are really glad to have found him. He was incredibly tidy at the end of each day and was a real pleasure to have around. We have a lot more work to do on the house and will defining be asking him back to help as we move on the next room (and the next, and then next...). Thanks Gary!
