Beetham Nurseries is a family-run Garden Centre & Nursery based on the A6, south of Milnthorpe in south Cumbria, just 10 minutes from the M6.

Established for almost 40 years, we are proud to stock an extensive range of plants large and small, across the Garden Centre and our own Growing Nursery. Visit our Garden Centre, Growing Nursery, Food Hall, Home & Lifestyle Shop, Gift Shop, Garden Cafe and Wood Fired Kitchen, all on one site! Good Friends, Fabulous Food and a Great Table Set-up are the ingredients needed to host an amazing dinner party.

Our Story

Beetham Nurseries is a family-run, independent Garden Centre and Growing Nursery based in south Cumbria. Established in 1984, we have a rich history! Stephen & Lesley Abbit founded the business which consisted of just a small field, a humble polytunnel, a stand pipe and a portaloo. Stephen still remembers their first day, We had a few customers, locked up and left the money in a bag on the wall!

I popped in today and it's just getting more expensive. I do think they need to consider their pricing. The food section could be more stocked. Cafe is really good this gets gets firm 4 stars. The rest just brings it down. Sorry

We weren't queueing for long at the restaurant. Smiling and helpful service. Beautifully cooked coronation chicken with jacket potato, followed by delicious cakes. Happy birthday to me! Thanks hubby 😘

Lovely garden centre with great plants and garden accessories. Excellent cafe with a wide range of food on the menu.
Lovely selection of garden lights and home accessories. Lots of helpful, friendly and professional staff to look after customers
Large free car park with disabled parking and easy access to the centre. Well laid out and a great place to spend a few hours.

Excellent choice of garden equipment and plants. Christmas is here of course. lots of good quality stationery and household goods. Friendly staff, wheelchair friendly , good toilets.

Excellent garden centre to visit with huge range of plants, shrubs and trees plus range of gifts. As one visitor said you come here having got mortgages if you buy everything you want! As well as buying plants we had lunch in cafe and enjoyed that. We recommend this place.

Great place this was our first visit but won't be our last. Cafe fills up fast about 11.30 for the 12.00 lunch service. All the staff were wonderful. Very good selection on plants all well looked after.

The fabulous flower beds at Beethams Growing Nursery July 2021. Worth a visit to get ideas for your own garden. The staff are very helpful to identify plants for you in the flower beds.
