We are a traditional family run garden centre based in Devon in the South West with a great emphasis on gardening. Most of our plants are sourced from local nurseries who provide regular and often weekly deliveries of fresh stock. We are pleased to support West Country Growers with some of the finest specimens grown locally.
We are convenient to a large area of Plymouth and you will find a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and on hand to answer your queries. Many have been with PGC for over 10 years and some 40 years! We have been established for over 55 years and are 4 times winners of the 'Investors in People Award'.
Plymouth Garden Centre is also more than just a shopping experience. A surprise is that you will notice we are located within a Victorian Fort. Bowden Battery was built in the 1860's as part of a ring of defences around Plymouth to protect the Naval Dockyard from a land attack. Many of the original features remain.

Poped in for a cup of coffee, it was such a long wait to get served it might of been quicker to order plants for the garden they would of grown quicker than it took to get served. I would definitely recommend the garden centre but miss the cafe unless its empty. The Christmas garden show looked supberb. I will point out that the cafe seemed more of a place to have a get together with the way they were talking and there was hardly anyone in the Garden centre. Garden centre 4 stars the Cafe 2 and thats being generous.

Lovely place to sit and have a cuppa. The food and drinks here are very, very nice and the service easy going and relaxed. We enjoy popping in here so much. Surrounded by plants this venue seems like one is lunching in the country. It's really lovely to check out all the plants and garden offerings along with the gift shop areas. Recommended for a peaceful cuppa and something to eat with no fuss.
