Granite takes slightly more care, i.e. cleaning in with soapy water, and perhaps sealing once a year, that literally takes 10 minutes.

Quartz is a manufactured compound of natural quartz set in a resin with added pigments. It is very hardwearing and is available in a wide range of colours. Because it's manmade, quartz guarantees a uniform pattern and is slightly easier to maintain than granite. The finish is equally as beautiful as granite.
