Starting out with the help of his father William, Ian started The Fireplace Centre in 1977 after a prosperous career as a stone mason. He quite literally built the foundations to what The Fireplace Centre has become today. Handmaking stone fireplaces for clients all over the Home Counties, his reputation grew along with the business and he begun to import stone from all over Europe to offer people something that no one else could offer.
