Professional chimney sweep based in East Meon, providing chimney sweeping services to Petersfield and the surrounding towns and villages. I use modern, power sweeping equipment to clean all types of flue, from open fireplaces to multi-fuel stoves and boilers. I carry a range of brush types and sizes to suit every chimney and flue liner and have the training and professional knowledge to ensure a clean and efficient service.
As well as using CCTV equipment to carry out a safety check on your flue after every sweep, I can also provide you with a detailed written report on the state of your chimney. Ideal if you have purchased or are in the process of buying a new home where there is little or no paperwork about its installation, maintenance or usage.
This service includes sweep, CCTV flue inspection, safety checks and checks against current building regulations, as well as general advice on using your new appliance. Meon Valley Chimney Sweep can be found in the Thatch Directory at the Thatch Advice Centre.

Creosote and Tar Removal
Report
Wherever a fuel is burnt, soot will form. If wood is burnt, this soot often contains tar or resins that can adhere to the side of your flue. Over time, if not regularly swept, your flue can become coated in thick layers of tar, or creosote. It is highly flammable and not possible to remove with brushes, especially in older chimneys where soft brushes are used to prevent damage to fragile brick facings and mortar.
Home Buyer's Inspection
Report
A fireplace or log burner is often a selling-point when buying a new home, and once you've moved in and unpacked the kettle, it's a great pleasure to light the fire and relax, but how do you know it is in safe working order? The truth is that most homebuying surveys do not identify whether a fireplace is safe to use.
