We are MO Architects, a Nottingham practice specialising in residential architecture where planning considerations form an integral part of the design process. Our services include house extensions, renovations, refurbishments, remodelling, bespoke new homes and planning applications, with projects undertaken across Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Leicestershire. We regularly serve residential clients in West Bridgford, Wollaton, Beeston, Mapperley, Arnold and Sherwood, together with the wider Nottinghamshire area. The practice is led by an ARB-registered architect holding a Diploma in Conservation Architecture and nominated for the RIBA Presidents Medals. Across 18 years, we have delivered more than 350 projects, applying both design-led architectural thinking and practical planning experience to our work.
Our clients include homeowners, developers, community organisations and commercial clients, all of whom receive advice tailored to their property, requirements, budget and planning position. We first establish the project through discussion, feasibility and site appraisal, before creating an architectural concept and working with the client to refine the design. We subsequently prepare and manage the planning application, engaging with the local authority when necessary. Detailed technical drawings and construction information follow, allowing the approved design to progress towards building. Our support can continue into tendering, contractor appointment and construction where required. By maintaining a clear process from the initial consultation onwards, we provide creative solutions that are well resolved while remaining firmly grounded in planning reality.

Services
With a planning-led approach, we create residential designs that respond carefully to both the clients brief and the characteristics of the property. Our work covers house extensions, renovations and bespoke new homes, with attention given to scale, proportion, neighbouring properties and local planning considerations. The resulting proposals are designed to be thoughtful, practical and buildable.
Our house extension service combines planning expertise with thoughtful residential design, helping homeowners explore the potential of their property before detailed work begins. We develop rear, side, two-storey and wrap-around extensions, progressing projects from early concepts to planning applications and technical drawings. Every proposal is shaped around light, layout, usable space and the character of the existing home.
For projects involving historic buildings, we take a careful and informed approach to design and planning. Our services cover listed building consent, conservation area advice, heritage-led renovation, internal alterations, extensions and supporting heritage statements. We aim to protect important architectural features while introducing well-justified improvements that enhance usability without diminishing the buildings historic character or heritage value.

Invaluable advice for someone starting their new project. I was recommend by a friend and they certainly exeeded my expectations. I was looking at a property which I made an offer on without being consulted by Mo Architects. I would have lost 50k. I look forward to working with them when I secure my next property. Thankyou.
