We are Ellison Switchgear, a well-established firm operating in the switchgear and electrical distribution equipment industry, founded in 1898. Our team holds more than a century of specialised experience designing and supplying high-quality electrical solutions for commercial and industrial clients. We were pioneers in the development of Packaged Substations, which integrate 11KV systems, Power Transformers, 415V switchgear and automatic Power Factor Correction equipment. Our comprehensive product range includes Low Voltage Air Circuit Breakers rated up to 5000 Amps, and Fuse Switches rated up to 800 Amps. We also supply Power Factor Correction Equipment, available as integral switchboard components or free-standing units, alongside Sub-distribution Switchgear, Panel Boards and our unique high current / low impedance bus-duct range. We operate an independent Short Circuit Testing Station, one of only three high current test facilities remaining in the UK, to ensure all equipment we supply is fully Type Tested.
Using our in-house test station, we have developed a proprietary switchboard design that limits the impact of arcing faults to the affected panel, enabling rapid reinstatement of equipment following such an incident. We recognise that electrical distribution systems are critical to business operations, and take our responsibility to maintain client continuity of supply extremely seriously. We offer a full Total Package Solution, covering design, site services and maintenance, delivered either directly by our team or via trusted partner companies.
