About us
Report
Southwell Garden Centre was taken over in 2000 by Dan O'Neill and Paul Hellaby, the current owners, and remains a dedicated family business with gardening and customer service at its heart.

Many of the traditional values that the business was built on are just as important to us today: Dan, Paul and the rest of our Southwell Garden Centre family work hard to provide the highest quality plants and goods, expert advice, excellent value, an extensive range and the best service around.

The garden centre just wouldn't be the same without our tea room. From light lunches to home-cooked dinners; from coffee and cake to tea and scones; from sandwiches to Sunday roasts; we cater for everyone. Quiet and tranquil, the tea room is the perfect spot to enjoy some delicious home cooking and a cup of tea or coffee.

The garden centre has a good selection of plants and a wide range of gifts. The Cafe was good and there was a lot of choice on offer- I had the Oreo cheesecake which was nice and plentiful, and the rest of us had a slice of Lemon Meringue Pie and Egg Custard which were nice. The only reason why I have given this garden centre a terrible rating is because of wheelchair access- we had to move some of the products out of the way, so that we could get around. Automatic doors would be a useful addition to this garden centre as it would slightly improve accessibility issues.

I love the restaurant, they were able to answer with confidence about which meals were gluten free. Had a lovely meal sat outside on lawned area. Garden centre was just basic nothing out of the ordinary, but plenty of bits and bobs to look around.

I take my elderly mum for lunch here every few weeks, its not the easiest place to manavour a wheel chair around, but they have done their best to allow access to all. I always have the quiche and salad, and its one of the best I've ever tasted. The food is always well presented, fresh and lots of it. The cakes are delicious and we always take an extra one home with us.
