Services
DW Frost (Wholesale Nurseries) Ltd was established in 1977 by David and Ann Frost, on a site known as Fosseway Nursery on the side of the A46 on the outskirts of Nottingham. The company has since been developed over the years to include 50 acres of field grown trees and 23 acres of container units, including a acre glass house, 2 multi-spans and poly tunnels.
This field, situated on an old roman site was planted in 2011 and 2012 with native and budded stock. This site has good loam and is suitable to grow nearly any variety of tree. This is a 13 acre field and has been planted in blocks over the last 6 years with a mixture of native and worked stock. It has light, sandy soil and grows Sorbus and Prunus amongst other varieties.
This was the original nursery site and is now the location for our head offices and the dispatch department. Our Plant Centre is also located on this site. The nursery now mainly holds 5 and 10 litre shrubs along with the container grown trees, herbaceous perennial beds, the multi-span and several growing tunnels.
We grow and sell a wide selection of products, including a wide range of Shrubs, Herbaceous Plants & Trees, both containerised and field grown. To complement our home grown stock, we import a wide range of high quality exotic trees such as Olives and Palms, bamboos, topiary and perennials. These are specially selected for you from European suppliers.
We grow an excellent selection of both native and ornamental trees ranging in size from 175cm up to 25-30cm girth. The trees are lifted between November and March, with trees up to 14/16cm being lifted as bare root and the larger trees with wire root balls. Small trees can be root-balled if required.
