What are Root One's opening hours?
We are open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, Saturday 9am-5pm, and Sunday 10am-4pm. The café kitchen closes one hour before closing times.
Does Root One accept card payments?
Yes, we currently only accept card payments at our café and retail outlets.
Are dogs allowed at Root One?
Dogs on leads are welcome in the garden centre and café terrace, except guide dogs which are permitted inside the café.
Do you offer gardening advice?
Our experienced horticulturists provide free expert advice on plant selection, garden design, and seasonal care for all customers.

Only went for breakfast toast arrived 5mins before the breakfast all cold apart from the sausage need to sort out timings

Really nice cafe serving a variety of snacks, lunches and cakes. The only downside was the disabled toilet facility - the toilet seat was very low and there were no "grab" bars to help me get up. If it wasn't for the fact that I had my walker with me to help I would still be sat on the toilet now!!!

Big selection of plants - couldn't decide which to get! Staff were also very kind and gave me lots of planting advice. I'll definitely be back.

This post gives me no pleasure whatsoever but I wanted everyone to be aware of 'SHOCKING' customer service that we experienced today. My wife and I have been here many times in our 20+years as residents and have never had a bad experience, until today. The day they lost us as customers forever. Two weeks ago, my wife and I brought a eucalyptus plant (as well as many other items, pots and plants) in good faith and within days (having watered it daily), it started to show signs of dying. With all our best intentions, we decided to keep going and try to revive it but it proved absolutely futile
