Probably the best garden centre I have been to. Great stock, restaurant and best of all a farm zoo and fantastic miniature railway which is loved by children and animals alike.
It is not cheap, you could call it the Marks & Spencer of garden centres, but it is good.
Well worth a visit and really is better than the rest

The Van Hague garden centre is a great place to go for adults and kids.
The array of indoor and outdoor plants is huge and they do many fancy gifts.
Be warned its very pricey but if you are after a quality gift or piece of garden furniture you can almost certainly find it here.
In contrast the do many 'free' things for the kids, they have an impressive mini zoo thing with goats, chickens birds (I'm not sure how to spell pheasants) ducks chipmonks meercats (aww baby ones are sooo cute) rabbits etc., and you can buy food for them from a machine for 20p.
They also have a shed with free

Van Hage is a primarily a garden centre, but they have a lot more on offer, and as such it's actually not a bad place to go if you want a lazy, gardening-centric weekend!
First off, be prepared to spend a lot of money at Van Hage. Not because you'll be coming out with armfuls of stuff, but because you need a second mortgage to walk through the door. No, it's not that bad, but it is pricey, much more so than your small independent nurseries but on a par with places like Homebase for the price of bedding plants and staple gardening gubbins.
Where the prices really start to ramp
