Choosing a lasting memorial tribute for a loved one need not be a daunting process. For over 10 years Mendip memorials proprietors Gavin Woodward and Erika Toth have been helping bereaved families with the placement of memorials throughout the south of England. Mendip memorials was founded by Gavin and Erika to make the placement of a memorial in the south west of England as straight forward, sympathetic and affordable as possible.
About Choosing a Memorial

A: Rules for cemeteries in Bristol/Gloucester and the Somerset/South west region differ from cemetery to cemetery. You may have to wait at least 6 months before a memorial can be placed if the internment was a burial. Some cemeteries have pre-cast foundations at the head of a grave, this usually allows for a memorial to be placed straight after any internment.

Reinforced concrete memorial foundation (where needed in the Bristol and South west area) and regional placement of memorial stone.
Carved Designs
Report
Our expert carvers can create many different styles and designs to provide for a more unique memorial headstone. Granite, Marble and natural stone memorial headstones can be hand carved and shaped to reflect the character of the person(s) they are dedicated to. The carvings can be highlighted and painted as desired.
Column and Canopy Designs
Report
Canopy and columned memorial headstones reflect a certain Latin style, usually made in a larger than standard size, these monumental headstones can easily be accommodated upon family plots, to provide a lasting tribute to all family members. Candle boxes and sculptures can be incorporated in designs where required.
