I searched globally for a Chesterfield furniture maker. Living in Australia meant that I started with Australian furniture makers, then expanded my search to UK and USA. There are also useful articles online that highlighted features to choose (and pitfalls to avoid). From my research, I put together a wish list, including:
a) a real timber frame (not MDF or other composite wood);
b) individual tacks (not blocks of 5 tacks joined together); and
c) the type of leather (especially, not small patches sewn together). I decided to select full aniline leather. I want a particular shade of green
