We had three Roman Blinds made by Laurel House Interiors and the quality of the blinds and the service we received was very poor. The blinds were fitted without child safe chains and despite knowing we have a two year old (one of the blinds was in his bedroom), it took a lot of chasing and making Barbara aware it was illegal for the blinds to be left like that before they were corrected, nearly two months later.

In addition to the issue with the chains all three blinds were curling up at the bottom and creasing more than expected. They looked like there was something applying pressure to them. When we initially raised this with Barbara she told us they were fine. I sent her images of how Roman Blinds should look and she agreed to take one of the blinds away to make adjustments. After re-installing the blind the issues were still visible.

Barbara then took away one of the other blinds and had it remade.

Again however this did not solve the problems. I decided to get them looked at by a different curtain maker who straight away said the stab stitching was too tight and the tilting was incorrect causing excessive creasing and curling of the fabric. I have since shown them to two other curtain makers who have said exactly the same.

Barbara seemed to get angry with me that I had shown the blinds to other curtain makers and wanted the names and numbers of them.

Barbara then told me the issues with the blinds were caused by the fabrics we had chosen (fabrics Barbara helped us choose and that were provided by Laurel House Interiors).

We had chosen fabrics from two different fabric makers, one of which was Ian Mankin. I contacted them and explained the issues we were having and provided pictures of the blinds. They came back to me saying there was no way the fabric was the issue. We have parted ways with Barbara and are having new blinds made elsewhere. I have asked Barbara for a part refund which she has refused. In her last email to me she said that the blinds are functional and she has nothing more to say on the matter. It has been a costly and stressful mistake choosing Laurel House Interiors to make our blinds. I hope this review helps prevent others from going through the same experience that we have.

Just like to give a shout out to Laurel House Interiors of Lymm who recently made us 3 blinds for our bedrooms. Barbara and Sara couldn't have been more helpful. They came to our cottage to measure up and we went to their showroom to choose our fabric from a great range. We were spoilt for choice! They even came back to check that we had made the right choice! The blinds were completed ahead of schedule, and the fitter did a great job.

We were absolutely delighted with the finished product and were even given the left over material for cushions. We are certainly going back to them for our lounge curtains. Excellent service by two lovely ladies. Would most definitely recommend.

Thank you to the lovely ladies in the shop today for your fantastic help and advice! We were looking for inspiration so we could dress our newly renovated downstairs area. With their insight and ideas we… purchased a beautiful chopping board, some succulents, a clock and have ordered a personalised sign for our dog wash area. They also gave us some other ideas and after a trip to High Legh Garden Centre we found some more goodies. We finally feel we have achieved what we wanted to do and really appreciate their help. I absolutely love the gifts in this gorgeous village shop. They are always high quality, reasonably priced and completely different to products I see in other shops. I've also had a bespoke blind made by this Company, for a very oddly shaped window. Highly recommended!
